One construction, for the company and every product.
Astralyx is the company; its products share one identity. Every mark is an ink square with a glyph drawn in two light strokes and finished by a single oxide stroke. Learn it once and every product is recognisably ours.
The company and its products.
The products are one family, named from one Greek myth: Astraeus, titan of dusk and the stars; Eos, the dawn, his wife; the Anemoi, the winds, their children. In writing, a product is "Astralyx Astraeus" the first time and "Astraeus" after.
Astralyx
An X crossed by a horizon: a six-point star, and the letter of the name. It signs everything we make.
Astraeus
Orchestration. An A with its bar: the control plane for GPU fleets. Its console carries it.
Eos
Inference. A prompt, "> _": the chevron in two strokes, and the oxide cursor where the next token appears.
Anemoi
Agents. The winds: two light gusts that curl at their ends, and a short oxide one setting out.
Three strokes on a 32-unit square.
- SquareInk, 32 × 32 units, square corners. It is the mark's boundary; nothing sits outside it.
- GlyphTwo strokes, 2.5 units wide, in the paper colour, inside the central 16 × 16 area.
- FinishOne oxide stroke, the same width. It is the only colour in the mark.
- A new productDraw its initial or figure in two strokes, finish it with one oxide stroke. Nothing more — no third colour, no gradient, no outline.
The mark, the name, and who makes it.
Names are set in IBM Plex Mono, capitals, tracked at 0.24 em. A product names its maker in lower case beside or beneath it.
Paper and ink, and one accent.
The accent is spent sparingly: one stroke in a mark, the focus ring, the one thing on a page that needs the eye. In dark themes the oxide lightens to #e06a3c.
Plex, in two voices.
Headlines, prose, interface. Semibold for headings, regular for text.
Everything a machine named, every measured value, and the wordmarks.
Say what it does. Show the number.
- Plain, exact sentences: "Machines dial out. Nothing dials in."
- Numbers and names over adjectives.
- Hairline rules and space to separate things.
- Give the mark clear space of at least a quarter of its size.
- Recolour, outline, round, rotate or add effects to a mark.
- Use the accent for more than one thing at a time.
- Gradients, glows, stock imagery of servers.
- Claims we cannot show in the product.
